Advanced Microscopy

To examine your eyes we will use our elaborate microscopes that allow for digital imaging and videos to be taken of your eye. This allows us to properly document and monitor your treatment progress. We will be able to show you exactly what is going on with your eye health so you have a clear understanding.

Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

OCT is a non-invasive imaging test used to see the structures of the eye from front to back. Our anterior segment OCT can allow us to visualize a cross section of the cornea, or the clear outer layer of your eye.  We utilize this to measure and track the corneal epithelium thickness to help monitor your treatment.

Meibography with LipiScan

We utilize LipiScan dynamic meibomian imager to evaluate the structure of your meibomian glands. Your meibomian glands are inside your upper and lower eyelids and are responsible for producing the protective oily layer of the tear film. By being able to observe these glands in an objective and repeatable manner we can better manage meibomian gland dysfunction, MGD. We will be able to show your gland structure so you have a better understanding of your eye health.

Meibomian Gland Evaluator (MGE)

The MGE is a tool we utilize to evaluate the function of your meibomian glands. It allows us to have a standardized, repeatable evaluation by applying the pressure of a deliberate blink to the meibomian glands while the gland secretion is evaluated for the amount, consistency and color. This tool is also utilized to track progression and treatment response.
